In Sept/Oct 2005 Google rolled back multiple datacenters aka the 'Jagger update'. Google is always tweaking things for SPEED and RESULTS. This is the primary business model for Google.

I think this really hit home for me when I read an excerpt from a press conference posted on Matt Cutt's Blog.

Here's the paragraph that caught my attention.

"Alan Eustace is up. He’s our Senior VP of Engineering, so he doesn’t have to wear a suit. Cool, Alan’s going to walk through the life of a query! He runs through the need to crawl, index, and then score relevant results. “Speed matters.” With 8 billion pages, it would take 253 years (I think I got that right) to fetch pages if you fetch one page per second. “It’s important that we gently crawl the web at very high speeds.” Alan talks about duplicate pages, which can vary from 30-50% of pages with a naive approach. Alan notes that you have to avoid infinite loops such as calendars. Freshness matters. Size matters, especially with long-tail queries."

To quote a line from Rocky One:
"Rocky... ya gotta catch this little chicken, cause we need greasy-fast, lightning speed".

On everybody (seems to be just the noobs) asking for the next update.
Now a new one started today.
Geesh....there should be something that all new members must agree to and that is "use the search function before posting a new thread on the same subject"

I'd worry about getting all of your pages indexed, especially those that you want to put reciprocal links on. Page rank comes and goes, but indexing is forever!!! (hopefully) Those in the know would be more concerned with having their link on a page that is indexed by G, MSN and Y. PR will come eventually. IMHO

google was upadting the page rank in every 3 months, but this time google is going to touch the 4 months time. this delay page rank update is also the part of google's new page rank update algorithim.

Well ummmm who said PR was important???

    LOL

Lets see there are 100 parts to the Google algorithim so PR is just 1 part...not one I would worry about as Google itself can't seem to get it's system to work correctly.

Some days toolbar works other days it doesn't. For a bunch of college educated programmers Quality Control is a concept Google has not done very well with.

Schmidt admitted such in a recent interview saying with so many DCs and information the quality scores would suffer.

Now knowing this you are going to sit and beat your head into the desk... in hopes of obtaining a score/value that seemingly nobody is sure of???

Your wasting your time on Google PR.....try the old type PR - Public Relations and you'll fare much better.

My 1.5 cents adjusted for inflation.

Next one will be when the moon turnes to cheese. The last one was early April. That update was on crack, and Google has been smoking crack ever since then.
