While the anchor text is a no brainer, there you go again claiming that relevancy outweighs PR, stating it as a fact. I've asked before, and now I'll ask again, care to test that statement?

I'm not asking for a bunch of "yes it does" "no it doesn't" "yes it does" "no it doesn't" "yes it does" "no it doesn't" type of replies that I know people are itching to type, I'm only asking Webby if he wants to bet on it. Doesn't have to be cash, we can settle on something.

As days pass by, I'm starting to hate your posts more and more...

Did you read this ? :

If you want to rank for "funny rabbits", you can have 1000 PR5 links with the anchor text "boring midgets".. And I will outrank you with only 20 PR3 links with the anchor text "funny rabbits".

    That's a fact. See above.

    Did you read this...?

I agreed with that part. What part of what I said was wrong? More and more it looks like you don't read the full post before replying. I like you E, really, I do, you seem like a nice guy. But you don't always seem to pay attention.

Aside from the part you missed, was there anything in what I said that was wrong?

<edit> I just realized that it might be a language barrier. "No brainer" means "I agree with you, there's no argument there" in the context I used it. It means something is true without having to think about it.</edit>

I skipped the no-brainer part.. I did knew the meaning but I just skipped it (altough I quoted those words twice).

Sorry for the attacking post, which still stands up with what I wrote in it, except for the first phrase.

And thanks for the PM in which you explain some stuff.

Apology accepted (hell, accepted even if the "sorry wasn't directed at me. :) ).

Curious now, based on what I said, do you, Expertu, think that page relevancy outweighs PR for link value? If the anchor texts are the same, I mean.

Yes. Outweights PR, if the PR difference is not so high.

Although I am not Expertu, but I think I can express my opinion...
It prolly wont outweight PR if the PR of the linking page is too high , you wouldl gain higher PR from a link even if that placed on a non-relevant high PR page, but it simply wont help in SERP much...

See, that is the what I'm saying will happen though. My bet, should you take it, would be that I could prove to you that a couple of higher PR links from non-themed pages will indeed outrank a bunch of lower PR links from themed ones. So... up to you.

Expertu, you said as long as the difference wasn't high. So let's say (4) PR4 - PR5 non-themed links vs (30) PR0 - PR1 themed ones, which do you think would rank higher?

If you are so sure about it, keep doing it...thats all I can say.
Now I really see no point to argue with you anymore....

I think those PR4-PR5 links although I'm not sure. I think that Google are still not good in detecting themed links.

Ok, that's kewl, I will keep doing it cause I believe it. And I'll agree to stop ghoing on about it with you if you'll agree not to spout as fact to people who might not know any better something you're unwilling to test as being right or wrong. Fair enough?

adamovic - I think so to, but still need to test to be sure. So far that's what it looks like though.

PR is just one of over 200 factors that Google uses to rank pages.

Google uses internal PR to rank pages and we don't know what internal page rank is and how it relates to the toolbarpagerank.
