yeah I shocked when i read this but i think this is just Predictions. But after long time there is no any update so it is possible to update next month because generally google every year 4 times updates please refer Google's forum.
YAPUT (Yet Another PR Update Thread). Buddy.. Forget about PR and concentrate of getting traffic instead.
I think Google is using style to tell us that, they are interested in PR against and it is the reason why PR have not be updated for about 4 months now. It is high time we forget about and learn how to increase our site serp's.
A lot of sites, like http://prchecker.info will give you the (possibly ancient) value... Probably won't be worth watching though... not likely to change any time soon
Yes, there's a lot of sites out there that will never have a PageRank. Someday, we'll have other ways to judge other sites. Hopefully, it will be within our lifetime, even.
PR is dead now...it doesn't matter much and its been a long long time since google updated it...so its importance is declining now...
I always check my website page rank, and bingo... at 18th october, my pagerank upgraded by google. the next cycle is next 3 month, so I think 18th january, google willl update the pagerank...
It could be that they do not care about PR than about their other ventures, but if you continue getting quality backlinks, then don't worry about PR it will come in its own time
I have been here for only 2 days. And I already feel like PR is studpid thing to go after. LOL. forums can change so much about you.
Ok to a degree Don' Worry about page rank. But don't completely ignore it. Focus On getting traffic to your site for sure but there is more importance to it than one might think. Google still counts back links to your site and obviously as always higher pr sites that link are still considered more relevant. There is also more than one search engine to worry about as well But beyond search engine placement higher page rank gives other users more reason to stay on your site it provides legitimacy at the point of the end user Given all that your main focus should be giving your site good content and provide your users with a positive experience.. And to the person who said the nasty word link exchange. Google doesn't like those because it's a manipulation of their ranking system they call it link scheming(trading a link for a link) One way links are what they look for. And as such you have a long way to go in your marketing efforts if you think you can't get one way links to your site from pr9 sites without paying a bunch of money. The reason google says not to worry about pr is because they don't want manipulation of what should happen naturally and people not trying to cheat the system.
Your site's ranking in Google search results is partly based on analysis of those sites that link to you. The quantity, quality, and relevance of links count towards your rating. The sites that link to you can provide context about the subject matter of your site, and can indicate its quality and popularity. However, some webmasters engage in link exchange schemes and build partner pages exclusively for the sake of cross-linking, disregarding the quality of the links, the sources, and the long-term impact it will have on their sites. This is in violation of Google's Webmaster Guidelines and can negatively impact your site's ranking in search results. Examples of link schemes can include: * Links intended to manipulate PageRank * Links to web spammers or bad neighborhoods on the web * Excessive reciprocal links or excessive link exchanging ("Link to me and I'll link to you.") * Buying or selling links that pass PageRank The best way to get other sites to create relevant links to yours is to create unique, relevant content that can quickly gain popularity in the Internet community. The more useful content you have, the greater the chances someone else will find that content valuable to their readers and link to it. Before making any single decision, you should ask yourself the question: Is this going to be beneficial for my page's visitors? It is not only the number of links you have pointing to your site that matters, but also the quality and relevance of those links. Creating good content pays off: Links are usually editorial votes given by choice, and the buzzing blogger community can be an excellent place to generate interest. Once you've made your changes and are confident that your site no longer violates our guidelines, submit your site for reconsideration. . This is straight from webmaster guidelines. So No, PR isn't dead.
