    I would rather have it happen in January. Christmas sales are still going, so I don't want anything to change. Things could get better, but they could also get worse. Page Rank is fine, but SERP is what makes my sales fly.

    I guess it would be guaged by traffic stats then. Of course, there would be a ranking system in place for that. It would then be called TR (Traffic Rank) instead of PR (Page Rank).

    I reckon Google has an algo to determine when the PR update is going to be. When the number of new threads about the next update on webmaster forums reaches a peak of frenzy, plus about 5 days.
