Just stumbled across a website http://www.oneyearforsale.com via preweb.com. What do you guys think of this idea? The guy is selling a years worth of time at $1/minute. 525,600 minutes in a year. Wow. Guy has sold $2400 worth of minutes.
This is a great idea but it doesn't seem like he promoted it enough. He only has two buyers and the ads start showing January first.
True, but he just ran a $400 press release at prweb today. I bookmarked the site and will check and see if there are any new updates tomorrow.
Wow it looks like a nice idea but I think it's need alot more promoting as this was the first time I've ever seen it.
Well if he has already sold $2400 worth of minutes, I'd assume it was worth his time putting that up.
$1 per minute is pretty expensive and I don't think its gonna last long. Even if you do get like 40 click throughs then the conversion rate will be pretty bad because the traffic isn't targeted.
Wow..I had a very similar idea a few months back and registered tensecondpage.com for the domain. I was going to do ten second increments....hmmm
well we all get good ideas, but its not whats gonna make you a million bucks by itself.. The main part is advertising, promotion, getting the word out
The site is nice and simple. only this is the URL does match the concept this wil need alot of advertising $1.00 a min is damn expensive. With the right advertisting I could see it getting some interest at the least
Hey guys. It was interesting finding this thread. The site is actually mine. It seems as though most of you feel I'm not doing a good enough job advertising. Any recommendations on what to do? I have submitted the site to digg, slashdot, etc,- I sent out the press release, sent out many e-mails, and placed many phonecalls.
$1 a minute is way to expensive, you could easily find much better advertising else where. Thats $43,200 / month. I bet you could get hundreds of ads with more traffic for that price
Ok, well lets look at it this way. Lets say the website gets 20,000 visitors per day (and each one clicks your link). 20,000/24/60 = 13.8 clicks $1 / 13.8 = .0725 So about 7-8 cents per click isnt THAT bad. I wonder how many visitors per day the site actually gets. Hmmm.
