One thing that can be the problem is that many pan cards have names interchanged. For example in my card my surname is taken as first name, my actual first name as second name, and my middle name as the surname. This may be causing verification issues for some people.
I have my name on PayPal and name on Pan card as exactly the same. Still they limited my account for a reason 'Pan card is invalid'. They also sent me a message saying that my names don't match. I have sent them a mail back saying that they match. I am really worried.

if you have applies your pan card with last name having initials, then it wont match. Usually it is recommended to use first and last name (fathers name), with banks, govt id etc.. Try changing the last name in your paypal account, enter just initials, see if matches exactly as per given in pan card.
The name printed on Pan card is xxxxxxx y zzzzzzzzzz and my name on Paypal account is also the same with middle initial. I had recently added my middle initial to march the name after I sent request, it was added immediately by PayPal My account was limited on 17th of this month, restored on 19th saying that the details provided by me are satisfactory and again my account is limited on 24th. Between 19th and 24th I received payments and withdrew to my bank.
One of my friend called PayPal as soon as their phone line goes online... My friend has opened a new account before 22 days but his pan card is still not verified. He talked with a guy named John. That guy told him that PayPal is now aware of the issue and it will be fixed within 3-4 days. He accepted that previously we were not aware of what exactly going wrong but now we found out the bug with our system so it will be fixed very soon.
Great news~ dont worry people everything should be normal by next week maximum. Trust in paypal and surely they will resolve the issue. Just wait for some time!!!
I Have change my Business Name.I write my personal name instead of Business name.I think this is fine. Because They ll do limited again.So change you Bank detail with business Name.If they ll verify your Pan card Business name ll also match with your name.I think this is Best.
I am not from paypal but I know how you guys are feeling as I have been in same situation before just 7 days ago. The lady who called me knew everything about the issue and she has told me that they are going one by one on each account. So even if you have any issues just be patient they are resolving it. I asked her about all my issues as well as common issues that we all share. She has told me that they are on it and they are working hard on it. They were given the false information that business and personal PAN cards are different but they weren't told that Indians can have personal PAN cards in Sole proprietorship accounts. So they are not just doing their job as what was told to them but going further and calling us each and all. After so many emails and so many calls from us they know something is wrong and it is wrong big time. So they have now understood what the issue is and as they are legit as well as they want to do the business with us Indians they are following all the regulations set by our RBI Give them sometime and they will rectify it they have already solved it for some people but the picture is huge and as a business owner or a freelancer you also know how tough it is to do something at this scale. I cant believe that they are verifying each account manually. They are PayPal and they must find some better solution to resolve this issue.
Yes, I agree with you. I also just can't understand the manual thing. After all they just need to map and verify 3 fields of database
Some 3rd party is verifying our PAN cards. Gov can't give so easily PAN card database to any foreign companies
I tried 7 times to correct my PAN numbers and it still did not match. Finally they blocked me from entering PAN, so i called them and told them i can scan my id and send over, correct this right now. And someone just manually did it.
What?? So you send them scanned copy and that guy manually did verification and restore your account access?? I don't think customer care guys have rights to restore the access.
Correct. They do not have access, but they must have sent it to some security team to get that done. My account was blocked for 6 days before i took it to them.
Ok I got it now! They are matching names. I had my personal PAN submitted in my PVT LTD business account and they just cancelled that 2 hours back.
Well, i understand the nerves of the guys here, i was also in the same position around a week back. Regarding the PAN issue, i did not do anything other than sending an email within a days time of receiving the notiification on account limitation. Gave all the details and told them how i have been abiding by all the rules and regulation imposed by them from time to time and also offered them to send the address proof, identity proof and PAN proof if they required it, in couple of days time i received the account restore mail as well as a reply to my support mail that they apologise for the inconvenience and the usual customer care stuff. I believe they are going through restoring access as per the date of opening of account, my paypal account is on from 2006 onwards, may be others can throw light on this aspect so that you guys can know when to expect a positive reply from paypal.
