I'd like to hear from anyone who has any knowledge about the "next generation of SMTP servers so spam goes away" that Shawn was talking about. Has anyone heard of a next generation with authentication required to send an email, etc.? Anyone heard when something like that might come out? Anyone... anything...
8 days have gone by... tick-tock-tick-tock. No response. So I guess nobody knows about email and its future, huh? Anyone?
Nope... but thankfully you started this thread so I can stop reading the "viagra" thread I resurected because Shawn had mentioned a new SMTP protocol... if you haven't read the "viagra" thread be thrilled and stay FAR FAR away! You have all been warned.
The hunt for the perfect wave, the hunt for the perfect spam solution - you'll never quite get there... Hear about the livestock company in Melbourne that blocked any email with CV (that's aussie for resume) in it - that was supposed to help staff retention so people weren't applying for new jobs on company time. So when they employed a guy with a Bachelor of Clinical Veterinary Science (BCVS) all his emails bounced because he had the letters after his name (as you would after all those years of study). Once you've got past the obvious bollocks you have the grey area where what you think is spam might be quite legitimate for someone else. Sarah
