A time machine is nothing more than a pipe dream. There is no way that a person can occupy space and time in two different occasions.

I do not believe C squared is a universal constant (i.e. that you can't go faster than the speed of light).

There is heaps about the universe we don't understand, but I don't think time travel is one of them.

Think of sound - a universal constant - in the sense that it travels at a certain speed (with other constants atmospheric pressure, etc, etc) - as people travel faster through space the sound waves compressed until a sonic boom occurs and the sound waves end up behind the object - however the sound still exists but does not affect the aircraft in the same way.

I think the same theory can be applied to time. As you move faster through time - time compresses (you move forward through time in relation to someone on earth ie time travel - the famous example of hooning off into space at a huge speed and coming back to find you've been away for 3 years yet your twin brother has aged 50 - relativity theory). However there will be a time barrier - like the sound barrier that once broken will mean you will travel without time being the same kind of factor (true warp space), time like sound is a barrier that can be broken, but just like sound doesn't travel backwards, time doesn't either (therefore traveling back in time is impossible) , however to travel forward in relative time is entirely possible. The real question is how to generate that kind of speed!

Why don't we see objects traveling faster than the speed of light then? Because we can't notice the affect on time, having broken that barrier they aren't in time in the same way, what we need to look for would be similar to looking for the supersonic jet - if you wait for the sound you can't find the jet because its long gone, you need to look well ahead of the relative sound to find the object causing the ripple, likewise with objects traveling at high speed through space, you might catch the ripple but the object that caused it will already be well and truly gone.

Social networking is currently big. I see this expanding to the workplace blurring the distinction between home, community, and office space.

    Hi,
With the recent discovery of the depth of the ice on Mars I suspect that someone will be landing there soon enough to create a bar, and a laundromat.
