Amazing thread with many reviews here, i hope gii gets a PR6 this time and PR7 some day in the future , because its not that easy to get a PR7, yes its easy but not easy to maintain it

Yes Terry-- they are really nice directories indeed. but I have mentioned that --the selection criteria here is the strength of the backlinks that has been spidered till now and which can be found on tools.
I have very little knowledge of all the big-and existing thousands of directories --I have made the list that from among all those that I am most familiar with. And I have not listed those which are already big. Only young ones who are on prawl to have some fun.

Sorry meet here--I can see only couple of PR5 and 1 PR8 link spidered for your beautiful directory.

And www.ewebpages.org --definitely qualify my list --it has very strong backlinks so far --a 100% definite --STRONG PR6 in few days time!

You have every Goofball making his own list of supposed best 20 and doesnt even know what day it is..
or for that matter what list of DP members directories can Provide submmiters.

I wont waste anyones time and add DMOZ or Yahoo or those old dinosuars that arent even worth looking at
as they offer absolutly nothing to the submitter and im not biased and ignorent to dislike someone and not add them
to the list i have just made...
All that i have listed are very strong directories and the owners are trusted people that know how to handle thier business affairs.
Thier contribution to the web is noted by me for anyone wanting a fast glance at what i see as the leaders in this ever changing
web directory landscape... period!

If your site is not listed then its because i havent seen any stats or actual promoting or i simply missed it and i apologize
as this was off the top of my head so.... ill try and add more before the time runs out...

GII Biz Directory = PR6
I dont want to expect more and get less lateron

 

To sustain my PR5, and wishfully think of getting a PR6 will great enough for me. I feel I am a long ways from anything remotely near a PR7. A Long Long ways.

JHRANG.... Alive has over 2-3 times as many links then next closest Aviva
and you would be surprised at wheres hes at.... trust me hes everywhere thier is high PR pages

Everyone has been diffrent in thier campains this round....

wether sponcering templates or buying links everywhere under the sun
many of these owners have been very agressive in link building...
Some have just tried to maintain what they have like myself and were tied
up with other projects but have fairly good backlinks comapred to the average directory.

Hi Malcolm--Yes You are right --

But Alive has greater backlinks--but I wonder what PR value it has. I think according to link valuation--both Aviva and Alive are neck and neck. And also to get PR8 --I gues a directory needs atleast 8-10 PR8 backlinks along with 25-35 PR7 and countless PR6/5 links.

IMO G treats Directories step-motherly-- while BLOGs and Forums are its fav.
I hope Alive gets PR8 --that will definitely increase the profile of our whole industry- no doubt about that.

 

I think I'm flying under the radar...

I don't have much by way of a marketing budget, so I really don't expect fast progress, but I do expect to keep inching along. If not soon then maybe PR6 will show up this summer.

However, I know I've got a lot of work to do in order to improve with respect to "page strength" and inner page PR. One thing at a time...
