Newsletters on a website

I need some help. I'm helping develop a website, and my boss is wanting to start a newsletter.

I've never implemented a newsletter system on a website and don't know much about it. Are there any good free systems out there that I could use?
Any other advice about putting newsletters on the site would be helpful, too. I'm designing the newsletter, so that's pretty taken care of.

There are pleanty of free mailing list scripts available.. just do a search on google you will get some

aWeber is near free - 17.00 a month with some very cool features.

 

I will probably keep that in mind for one of my personal sites.

However, unfortunately, this is for a landscaping business that is not doing so great atm (worked here for 3 years) and we're trying to do this for free.

Any of you experienced with any of the free scripts? I would prefer to use one that people know about so that if I get stuck on implementing it I can ask questions ^^;
