Newsletter software

How many people are using newsletters?

What are you using to manage the email lists and the mailing?

Are you sending plain text or html?

Are you handcoding the html or using some type of code/template?

I’m interested to see what everyone is using and recommends.

    Thank you.

Ive used Aweber previously and would recommend them. You can send plain/html emails, managing your list is very easy with them. There's also free solutions out there if you dont require the personalisation in emails.

I use http://www.YMLP.com they are very cheap, and growing. Used a lot in the Netherlands and Belgium. This is an English URL. You should check it out when you only plan a small newsletter and know a bit html.

I was thinking of just setting up a stand alone program with it's own database.

Any recommendations on what I should look out for when choosing a newsletter program?

My host mentioned "Mailman." Has anyone ever used that program?

IMHO, you dont need to look past Aweber, they'll do everything you require + more.

Thanks dcristo. I appreciate the input.

Noppid, I installed CommBull for one of my forums today. It works pretty good. Especially after a few file tweaks. ;)

Dada Mail is an intuitive, web-based e-mail list management system, which runs on any hosting account that can execute custom CGI scripts.
The newest release is 2.9.2; Dada Mail is a free download.

Dada Mail is good cause it's free, but if you require personalisation in emails you have to go for a paid solution.

I send a news letter with just headings on it, then create a page on my site with the full version, that way I incrase site size, eople can look through past editions easily and I use adsense on those pages and my CTR improves on newsletter days!!

Great idea, pants. LOL. Taken out of context that means something else entirely different.

What are you using to manage your newletters?
