Whats the best way to get newsletter signups. I have a form on my home page but I have only got one signup, in like 2 months. Please give me some advice.

    Thanks

It all starts with traffic, if you don't have the traffic you're probably going to be slow in recruiting subscribers. I have a suggestion - move the signup field to the left hand column. Since most people read from left to right I think that this will catch their attention a little quicker. Good luck - you have a great site - and one more subscriber!

You've gotta intise them to subscribe...Offer them something.

For your Sctipmob site - offer them "Unlimited Access to the Best Scripts on the Planet or something".

You've got to have something attractive yet in-expensive to get them to subscribe.

Think about what they will get by signing up for the newsletter.

Are you offering something that they won't find on your site? Exclusive content? Special links to coolness? Whatever....give them a reason to sign up...I've never been a fan of bribes because often they will take the bribe and then unsubscribe the first time you send a newsletter out.

Newsletters are more intimate than a website, so you can sell more, but you also have to treat your subscibers with more respect if you want to keep them onboard.

Do you keep a newsletter archive on your site? If not, you should do so. It will bring lots of traffic over time. You might want to make sure to have a newsletter signup form next to each archived version of past newsletters so that people can easily sign up.

    Good luck.

    Yes,

Tony is right, keeping an archive of the newsletter should do well, also, addig RSS feeds where people can subscribe to your newsletters is better than this one, it will keep your space clean, and directly oriented on your business.

Have you considered writing articles and pointing people directly to the squeeze page?
