Some time ago i decided i was going to try and get more visitors and sales to my niche webmaster directory. This advertising 'experiment' was carried at at the beginning of February this year... if you've ever thought about advertising in a newsletter to promote your web directory or are interested in this method of advertising you might like to take a few minutes to read through my blog post which details what i did and how successful my newsletter banner campaign was. Any one who has any comments, id love to hear them... Heres the link: http://www.michaelthorn.co.uk/070307.php Thanks for taking the time to read
Cool, i think i tried the newsletter advertising not long before you lol.. didn't see great results but i didn't have my ROI script up... maybe its time for an exclusive newsletter
We have sent out Newsletters with a great deal of success but we have our system and ROI monitoring but it has taken a long time to get it right The results are always consistent with good revenue streams Thanks for sharing the info
I know the feeling! I had some troubles at the beginning, but now its working great! Yours is custom right?
Thank you for the info, can you please post a link to the banner you used? Just to add, it would be interesting to see how different positions and banners perform, personally I would be more inclined to click on a banner saying "Affordable Quality Paid Directory, xx$ one time fee" than a banner using a cheesy tagline like Improve your SERPs PS: Change either the font size or the font color or both, it hurt my eyes to read your post.
How did you made newsletter advertisement ( any paid companies ) Or you did advertisement from directory submission email notifications ?
my old Joomla based directory, gathered a few thousands wanna-be subscribers, bu I never emailed or use any of it. But that is something for us to look into, maybe a mod next to the submit form asking if they wish to subscribe to a news letter.
Just to clarify the newsletter that i advertised in was not my own but one that is distributed by a rather large search engine (although obviously not one of the top three). Obviously if the newsletter had been my own and distributed from my own website, to my own 'members' (if i had them) then it might have been more successful.
