Newsgroups?

I read somewhere that getting links from a newsgroup is a good way to market the site. Any idea where I can start the process?

Have any of you used such stuff before? If so, please let me know your experiences.Thanks in advance

 

You'll get some traffic, but not a huge amount...It is targetted traffic though, which is good...

I logged onto Wikipedia to read up on this, but am more confused then ever before

 

If you have outlook, it's easy. You just have to register to the newsgroup you want (make a search)
Without outlook, you may use deja.com I think or even google.
Google newsgroup: groups.google.com (or something like that)

 

You can get some good traffic, just DO NOT SPAM

 

You can also try yahoo or msn newsgroups.
