Newsgroup Promotions - Do they still work?

    I have joined a newsgroup ., Do you think promotions through newsgroups still works?. I dint mean spamming ., But iam thinking of posting related articles to relevent groups

    Do you guyz have any ideas for promotion through newsgroups?

    Yes they work, as long as members of the relevant newsgroup like the content you're linking to. It's a great way to get some targetted traffic.

    Like I linked to Indiacensored.com from a google newsgroup & the site received some significant traffic while the censorship was in effect + it got mentioned on several other sites including zdnet.

    Signature advertising via newsgroups

    Usenet is divided into different newsgroups by topic, it of course doesn't mean that your signature must be on-topic or related to the discussion in any way. It is acceptable to mention your site that sells autoresponders in your signature even if the newsgroup is about real estate, just as long the message itself is on-topic. However, it is very likely that a signature that has something to do with the discussion gets more attention than a completely irrelevant one.
