    However, when you search for:
    google.com

None of Google's subdomains show up, because maybe the subdomains are considered as a different domain name, maybe?

I dont think there should really be a difference. A good school of thought is that if the content is distinct or specialized, a subdomain could be used. It is a good way to issolate your content.

    NOTE:http://www.google.com/search?q=site:google.com
Shows a listing of any page with *.google.com/*

You have been answered and keep asking the same question. It IS the same domain, but is considered a related domain as far as linking. The fact that it is name a "subdomain" implies that they are related

I suggest not worrying about it and moving forward. If you have you feel you need to seperate content use a subdomain, else use a directory.

You can use subdomains for many reasons though generally, Use subdomains for several reasons:

    1. To saturate results http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=yahoo&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

    2. If you have totally seperate topics http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&client=safari&rls=en&sa=G&q=site:about.com and enough content to make it worthwhile.

Generally, people often put blogs, forums, shops and affiliates on seperate subdomains.
    shop.domain.com forums.domains.com affiliate1.domains.com, affiliate2.domains.com etc etc.

Rankings and PR are judged by page. So, a subdomain can rank as well as anything or not. Therefore have it in the most logical way for your visitors.

The issue between B and C is that links point to the www and non www address, thereby indexing the '2 addresses'. & reducing the 'power' either one has has. Use a redirect from the non www to the www (theres plenty of threads here)

Yes, thats true. Those two links are different. The statement that subdomains are bad for SEO is false.
