News reporting and images

I'm in the process of building a site that is football related. As part of the site I would like to display all the recent news headlines from the English Premiership.

I would be interested to find out if there are any legal implications of quoting various media articles to display these headlines and if it is possible to use media resources to give a brief description of the news in different words.

I would also be interested to know if there are any legal implications to displaying football players photographs whether it was my own photographs or from somewhere else.

Also, is there anywhere that you can obtain photographs for free to be used for commercial purposes but not to actually sell the photographs and if so, would anyone know of a resource that would include football related images?

A lot of questions for a Saturday afternoon :)

As far as the news part there are a whole lot of free news feeds. Here are a couple I have found. I haven't used them though.

    worldpress.org/feeds/

    webdev.quickfound.net/free_news_index.html

    webterrace.com/edge/news.htm

I saw your other photo thread and I'm not sure about that. You might actually be able to use the pictures from some newsfeed. If you search for sports or area specific news feeds you would probably have better luck. You might even try asking the teams themselves. I know a lot of teams normally have a media or press kit and are more then happy to help out if it means more coverage.

    I hope that helps.

Thanks Hodge for that! After a few comments made today I'm feeling a lot more optimistic about the added features of my new project :)
