As we all know - online marketing changes all the time. I was wondering what you think are the newest or soon to be the best/cheapest ways to advertise online. I don't mean the usual stuff.
Whoa, it's hard to tell what kind of an answer are you expecting but FOR ME new ways to produce traffic are everything Web 2.0 related. But honestly, tactics might change but the attitude behind them is basically the same for decades. Look at viral marketing. There are companies out there who have mastered the art of viral marketing with the help of Web 2.0 sites like Digg. But what they are doing is nothing new. So I guess the key is to be creative and to always try to use proven mindsets on new tools.
Not everybody's cup off tea, but I have been marketing NetAudioAds for the last 8months and surprisingly(against the web negativity) I'm landing orders over the last 5, with inquires, not much just yet, but at least 3-5 a week. My biggest downfall is people, they are generally embarrassed about hearing there own voice or its just to expensive to have a pro do a voice over. At the moment its something to look at, as a new form of advertising.
Viral marketing is the best way out....focus on creating killer content and hope that it would be picked up by website's across....
Depends in the niche your in, but articles and social bookmarking seem to do well. Articles for me are constant traffic, not much traffic but constant. social bookmarking, again it depends on the niche but for me they provide a high bounce rate.
The old ways do just fine. The big sites of today did it that way. And you are looking for new ways, without even trying what works first? Well, ok, then.
I hope this isn't against the rules (as I own this service), but check out the Publicity Wheel, a new kind of banner exchange program with a difference. It's quite new but results have been good so far.
Google Nohl is recently released it is sure to take off and be used in the next internet marketing phase.
I prefer tried and tested methods. I do some Web 2.0 stuff and have had success with it. However, the newest and latest and greatest is not always the best.
the best way is to understand people and what they want and market that to them then they have a higher probability of buying. Find out what people are buying and then get your name out there and put yourself in front of them
Discrete advertising. For example, you see a webpage that you really like, advert free. Unclear who or what is sponsoring / paying / making it. Only in a very small corner does it inform you. The key point I am trying to make is that people get bored from the in-your-face approach and want the benefit of a website without being blasted by adverts
in terms of new ways, article spinning technology is moving on and I have been working with one system which is giving great results. looks human written... unlike most of the systems i have previously subscibed to which just exchanged words based on a thesauraus - which never works! have you tried affiliate marketing using google products? taking merchant datafeeds and submitting the products there yourself. letting the cat out of the bag here. I used to do it I have more effective ways to make money. the product feed means you have to signup to loads and loads of merchants and keep getting updated feeds. Does work, havnt seen much reference to it on the forums so maybe a newish way?
I would focus on link building techniques including ariticles, blogs, directories, press releases, social bookmarks, videos, reviews etc. Create as many ways as you can for people to find your website and focus on using anchor text for your links related to your industry and that receive some type-in traffic. Get ranked for these terms and watch your traffic and internet exposure grow. Stay at it and you will be at the top in no time
