http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/10/18/opinion/polls/main3383010.shtml Hmmm, someone isn't registering national support. I wonder who it is?
Rudy hasn't even registered in NY yet. There is the popular vote, somewhat reflected in polls, and then there are the boots on the ground, signing up to be delegates, gathering signatures to get on ballots and campaigning at the grassroots level, the stuff that actually wins a nomination. It's why the front runners do not always win the nomination, unless they are an incumbent. Paul has a much larger campaign than Giuliani in this regard.
Read the poll results .pdf GTech, they don't name Paul as a selection in the poll. Real fair poll you got there. It's got "barely million dollar" Huckabee, and "I don't know when to give up" McCain as selections, but not Paul. Yawn
Oh, it's good. If all of these people in the phone poll actually show up to the primaries and caucuses. I think the remainder of the 3rd tier candidates will be dropping out soon. Paul has a nice war chest built up, and most of his staff is working as full time volunteers. Believe me, in the early Primary States (LV, SC, NH and IA) Paul has nearly as much staff as Giualiani and more than Thompson or McCain who are relying on name value to get people to the polls. Paul's no longer second or third tier. His fundraising puts him in 3rd place, and he's become a media darling in the last two weeks. Apparently the RNC is quite pleased that Paul is bringing so many new people to the party. It's going to be an interesting race.
Ah, so polls don't matter, unless it's Bush's ratings I figured as much, just looking to watch the neopaulitans squirm and spin!
We'll see GTech. I think you will be quite surprised at how this plays out. Paul is polling at 5% nationally in a recent Gallup poll, and at 6% in NH with 22% of the black vote. Things are definitely on an upswing and of course, the fund raising speaks for itself.
Spin? You are quoting a poll that doesn't even name Paul as a selection, and saying "Oh look, Paul has no support!". Honestly now...
Name him as a contestant, or simply no one chose him? What's wrong fletch, the poll numbers don't fit your agenda? I love watching you guys squirm. When it comes to America, it's nothing but doom and gloom. When it comes to paul, spin bad news into good. If only we could swap those around!
CNN Poll: http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/10/16/schneider.poll/index.html Must be another unfair poll
READ THE POLL. THEY DON'T NAME HIM AS A CHOICE. Not the article, but the link to the actual poll PDF, further down the page. You don't have me squirming, you me laughing because you are being ignorant, or blatantly ignoring the facts.
Should third tier candidates be named? I mean, in the CNN poll, he only has 2%. Surely there is some good news and method to spin it? Or we could pretend it's like the number of deaths going down in Iraq, and find the bad news in 2%
I don't know, should third-tier candidates be named...like candidates who can't keep their campaign out of debt since they hardly get any donations? Give it another month, and you'll see more of the candidates who supposedly have more support than Paul continue to drop out. Apparently, Brownback had the same support as Paul according to your poll, yet Paul raised more in 3 months than Brownback did since he started his campaign. Also, a tidbit from one of the losers, recent quitter Sam Brownback: "The senator offered a bold prediction: The Republican nominee, he said, will not be former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani." EDIT: Wrong support amount.
The good news is the more people see of this guy, the less they like what they see. The bad news is that the neocons are so eager for continual war they would undercut Ron Paul so Hillary would win.
I agree with you on this one. I've talked to quite a few people I know here about candidates and when Ron Paul came up, this is pretty much what they've said. This may be why he's polling at 2% in the latest poll. Most of it, at least IMHO, stems from his initial pandering to "troofers" via alex jones. That was a huge mistake on his part. He should have kept those "feelings" hidden a little better. Then there is the NAU conspiracy. Then the revelation about a newsletter he published years ago degrading Blacks and Jews. Then there was the david duke endorsement, followed by support by white supremest groups (an emerging pattern?). Then his "blame America first" comments that seem to flow at every debate, coupled with his delusional remarks regarding national security. I suspect these things are why he's hovering as a third tier candidate at 2% nationally. Howard Dean had huge online support AND POLL SUPPORT. Far more than paul has, and Dean flopped like a fresh caught trout.
You are right. People might not like him. That would put him in the same boat as everyone but Hillary. Are you planning on crossing the party lines again to vote for another Clinton? And yet, he continues to have the only Republican campaign that is posting positive fund raising growth. Thanks for proving the point. Dean lost with huge poll support. Maybe these polls aren't all they are cracked up to be. Paul is around where Clinton was at this time of his first election cycle.
Hopefully enough people see what these neocons really are. That they would vote for Hillary Clinton over Ron Paul tells you all you need to know about their true beliefs.
