News that a new “Da Vinci Code” has been found in Da Vinci’s famous “Last Supper” has resulted in enormous amounts of traffic, crashing many of the websites reporting the news. Some (www.leonardodavinci.tv, www.codicedavinci.tv, www.cenacolo.biz and www.leonardo2007.com) have reported as many as 15 million hits on Tursday morning alone.

Slavisa Pesci, an information technologist and amateur scholar, has reported that superimposing the “Last Supper” with its mirror-image points out another picture containing a figure who looks like a Templar knight and another holding a small baby.

I was able to duplicate this with photoshop simply by overlaying a mirror image onto the original and aligning on Jesus. It brings into shape some interesting images!

It must be my eyes - I've had a look at the picture and can see neither the knight or the baby

I heard that if you beat your head against a wall you can see little birdies.

I think he needs to stick to twiddling his thumbs waiting for someone to need windows rebooted.

I think its a stretch...furthermore this is a painting, not an actual picture of the last supper...I could paint one myself and include those details....the facts are that there is no proof whatsoever that Jesus was married or had a child...there are no credible sources.

Dude, there are no "credible" sources that Jesus was the son of God.

    Faith doesn't have to b e secular.

Actually, if I'm not mistaken, outside of the Bible, there's no real evidence Jesus actually existed at all.. that's where real faith comes in.

Current historians don't really doubt that jesus existed. The doubt, of course, comes in when you look at the theology behind him. Just like anyone else, what we have to go by is the written word. Historians of the time wrote about him. I believe some of the local roman rulers did as well. Your problem comes in though, because christianity didn't really take off until after jesus was already crucified. So you can't expect there to be a lot out there.

I can never get this image to load. I'd like to see it. But geesh. Can they invest in some better servers?

you are mistaken...Josephus wrote about Jesus and the jews of his time...we have all of that in writing. Not to mention the hundreds of other so called "gospels" or other writings. The Church may not see them as the inspired Word, but they were written and they do mention Jesus (not saying that what is in them is correct, but the mention of him is still there).

With all the hard work they are putting into rewriting history they don't like or want to agree with, those things will disappear somehow or be discredited with a modified carbon dating that is the opposite of the one used on bones.

Just like the way they teach that "separation of church and state" is in the constitution, they will say that a person named Jesus during that time never existed. Or how a theory is fact - you know the theory of evolution...

For me, it's largely a matter of faith, but here's a link that attempts to provide both sides to the argument:

That site reminds me of John Dominic Crossan and the quest for the Historical Jesus....he concluded that Jesus only may have said 1 actual thing that is recorded in the Bible. The rest he never said....

I find it interesting that the earliest of Christians would allow themselves to be brutally murdered rather than give up their faith in an "imaginary" man including the ones that claimed to have walked and talked with Christ.

This despite having nothing political or economic to gain.

Maybe I'm weird but if I claimed to have walked and talked with Santa Claus with no personal gain and then the government told me to stop making up lies or face execution I'd say "ya got me!"

Compare that to cults that have sprung up over the centuries and look at what the leaders had to gain by holding onto their lies. Tithes (money), land, power, etc.
