Hi, I recently decided to seriously try emarketing but it is taking awhile to learn enough about it to actually get started. Joining this forum is one of the ways I hope to learn. Just to prove how little i know about these issues I am hoping that someone can help me with a very detailed response about joining clickbanks - this is the examble they provide - http://AFFILIATE.PUBLISHER.hop.clickbank.net
I have two questions- #1-where exactly do I find the publisher part of the above string on their site(the publisher) in the marketplace area?
#2-How do I hook this up if I don't have a website to work from?

This is the example of a tracking ID given by clickbanks-p://AFFILIATE.PUBLISHER.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=zzzzz

Same problem-I need someone to explain it to me -exactly- yes-like you explaining it to a 6 yr old-as i said I have no experience with this and want to get it right as it is important. I would very much appreciate a response from some kindly and verrry patient person - maybe a grade two teacher-lol. I have read the explanation clickbank provided but am still not sure how to proceed.

I'm not sure if I follow, but you just want to send out the clickbank affiliate links to your email list?

Just make an account on clickbank, and then you become the AFFILIATE as in the link. So if you register as rcc666 then your affiliate link would be

    rcc666.PUBLISHER.hop.clickbank.net .

And yes you do find publishers on the marketplace section of heir site.

As for the tracking id, it is just a link you can place somewhere so you can be sure where the hops are coming from.

So for example you can change the zzzzz to anything you wish for easier tracking.

    AFFILIATE.PUBLISHER.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=zzzzz

    Hope this helps.

To answer your second question, cloak your link first.

So go to tinyurl.com or another cloaker, and cloak your hop link.

After, go to Squidoo, Blogger, or Wordpress, and register. If you're with Squidoo, create a good lens about the niche, and insert your cloaked link in a few places offering a "recommended product". If you're doing Wordpress or Blogger, write articles about the niche that help people, and occasionally create a blog entry telling people about a product "you just love because it works so great".

And of course, join a affiliate marketing-specific forum. As great as DP is, you won't learn any of the specifics of Internet Marketing here. It's a sandbox.

You can use the first website in my signature to generate hoplinks and cloak them as well.

Well for your first question I'm not sure why you would want to find the publisher in the market place (well I have an Idea of why), but usually if you type in the publisher name the it marketplace area will show up in the results. Not sure if I understand your question. Also You can find the publisher's name when you create a hoplink if you are just trying to get the publishers name from the marketplace.

As far as tracking is concerned. You can use forums as suggested above as well as other free methods. For expample Blogs, Squidoo, Wordpress, Myspace, Youtube Article Marketing, then you can use the tracking to see where your sales are coming from.

    Hope this helps.
