Well I guess it depends how much you want to earn, but Youtube, MySpace, Google, Facebook, Digg and so many others wouldn't be as big as they are - if they never invested so much money into them.
Yeah, but to earn $100 a day you don't need to put much money in at all, but you need a heck of a lot of time, or just some great past experience.....or luck.
Yes true, very true, but within 3 months or a short time frame all your hard work may not show results instantly, where as buying ad's is instant and if done right can mean a larger ROI.
I say good luck, im going to keep looking in on this thread and check up on how you do. We are all here to learn from eachother and even if he doesnt hit the 100 mark, there may be some good ideas or practices we could pick up.
I hope you make your target. Though, it's going to take a lot of hard, focused work. Experience of knowing what works and what doesn't is one key to making a decent income online. When you find out what works for you do it over again and automate it or outsource it. If you don't succeed you can always create websites and blogs for offline businesses. Best of luck, ebob
update: Ok, my partner hasn't been on a few days and the person making the template hasn't either. All my advertising plans are set. I just need to get the content and the template. I'm hoping for a Wednesday launch now, but I'm not being too optimistic. I will keep everyone updated. QUICK update: The designer PMed me several seconds after this post (I'm guessing it was a coincidence). He said it should be done by tomorrow. So a Wednesday launch is possible. I just hope my partner gets on soon.
This is great but you may want to at least guide the readers through your strategy and some of your research. Of course, we're not expecting to see the url or even the niche. Just your plan and daily progress in broad strokes are fine.
I can't agree more. When it comes to online business, time IS money. The same way Capital and Labor are interchangeable.
Honestly, investing in a PR3 domain and a template wasn't your best choice imho. I started way simpler, with a $10 investment (yes, that's IT!) -- and am making well over $100 a day... The trick: not spending on useless things such as PR domains, but working on the content. Once the content makes its own money -- use that to invest in important stuff. You'll have knowledge to help you make the right decision... For example, you just bought a template, and you've optimized it for... Adsense? Well, what if adsense doesn't work? What if all your money comes from another source? What if, even though you planned to get private advertisers (good luck, it's almost impossible for a site so young) -- but chitika works well in your niche? You're investing money without any data, without any info... Think about it! In the future, you'll be able to do these kind of things... Right now, I invest well over $100 when I start a new page. Not on a template, but on content, content revision, ... Why? Because I am making these decisions based on previous experience. That works. My advice: slow down! Don't set unrealistic goals (yes, your goal is unrealistic, seeing as you obviously miss some basic skills). Focus on giving this first website a go, and focus on GROWTH. Try doubling your ORGANIC traffic every month. Try keeping that up for half a year. If you manage to do that, money will follow -- income will follow, and you'll have money to invest in new projects, or new ventures... Don't try to rush. Short term success =/= long term success. Good luck!
