I bought a deal site from a guy here on DP, he says he was making $800 a month or week, don't really remember. Anyways it turns out to be a lie and I have considered that money lost. I am focusing on making that money back, It has been a few months now and I have not made a dime yet.
How long did it take some of you guys to start making money? what are some of the marketing tactics you guys used to bring in users?

Yeah, you've got to be cautious when buying a website.

As for how to succeed... start a website to earn a little, spend as much time marketing the website (so you get traffic) as you do trying to build and monetize it... then find a way to automate the site and move on to build another.

I was a direct marketer and was struggling online. When I got into network marketing, it only took me less than a month for my business to begin thriving.

Just make sure there is a support system and a duplication system.

    Every online business needs:
    • Leads Generation
    • Free Advertising Methods
    • Complete Training.
    • Search Engine Training (how to rank free)
    • A Great Product
    • A good team behind that product and company.

I am a single mom able to work full time from home so it can be done.

empireweb - what are you doing right now to promote you site? Coupon/sales sites like the one you have can do ok if promoted properly.

As for your question, I made my first sale within 48 hours when I first got started, but that was a long time ago and things have changed alot since then.

Yes, there are a lot of scammers out there. The worst part is the mind melt they do to newbies with their hype based copy. They have you actually believe that there is some kind of complete 'business in a box' waiting for you if you pay them $97.

They train so many people to believe that you don't have to do anything in order to make your business thrive. It takes dedication and time to build any business, online or off.

It is so frustrating when I talk to people on the phone sometimes. They have requested information from me and I'm asking them what they're currently promoting, how they were taught to promote, if it's working for them, etc.

Many people join these affiliate programs that have no training whatsoever or I'm hearing their promotion methods and they've been taught all of the most expensive or ineffective ways possible to advertise and promote. The guy with the lame product doesn't care, he's not shelling out the PPC bucks without having any idea how to do it properly.

Everyone seems to think that doorway pages are great marketing tools, safelists are just as good as building your own opt-in list and that 30 different banners on their site looks cool. It is absolutely unbelievable.

This misdirection is causing so much closed-minded thinking out there, it's scary. They think that if my $97 Ebook by Gary The Guru says I should do it, it must be true.

I bought a lot of Ebooks and useless software back when I started out. I've found that the majority of the content is just the same general ideas recycled over and over again with different claims.

There were only 2 information products that I ever paid for online that were worth every penny. One was a webdesign course and the other was an Internet Marketing course but was way different from the hyped up crap you usually see.

Back when I was trying direct affiliate marketing of info products, every time I tried a new product (I only wanted to promote products I owned and used for my own business building) I ended up with more questions than answers. then, the creator of the product doesn't want to hear about how you don;t understand something. You've already paid.

Personally, I enjoy the camaraderie of Network Marketing (NOT MLM, they are 2 different things). We help each other and exchange ideas and that makes a team of people with all different talents pooling together for one big successful plan.

Now that I've made all the mistakes and tried all of the wrong ways, I was finally open to learning what works. Guess what, it is so much easier now that I don't have to figure out how to promote something that has no real value. i feel like I'm actually helping people and that is awesome.

its my honest belief that a great product WILL sell.

If you have a great product and you're 100% behind it people will realize this. 75% of products (eg. on clickbank) are junk-quality....but the good ones DO sell and people know the good ones. Once the word is out affiliates will jump on it since everyone wants a piece of the cake too.

    Hint: Focus on quality.

A great product WILL sell. Absolutely true.

Pre-Landing pages are very important though. Make landing pages telling others about your experience with the product, actually buy the product and give a fair review.
