I'm fairly new but not completely naieve when it comes to e-businesses. I'm very interested in learning more and just curious what people consider the best field of internet business to get into right now. Getting a popular blog and the adsense earnings, ebay or drop shipping, running a busy forum and selling advertising space... Just curious what people consider to be among the top things to get into. Also, are there any good resources online or books that you would recommend? Are there many people out there who make their living solely off of internet income? Thanks for the tips.
Well, personally I would not consider adsense earnings as an e-commerce earning. The Adsense income is really one which should just be considered as a bonus rather than for one to earn a stable income from it. Sure there are some that do but since you cannot quite influence your visitors behavior, you cannot force them to click on the adsense ads to leave your site. As for blog, the best blog is one which you are passionate about and not so much to blog to make money. All in all, the best advice I can give anyone is start websites which you really enjoy doing and do not think about the making money option, they are just a bonus. There are just too many websites out there offering free virtual resources and information and it is not really possible to charge for those. Of course, if you sold something then that sure is a better way of making money. It takes a lot of time, sweat, blood and money to get something successful off the internet because you be competiting with the hundreds of thousands new websites which appear every month and not counting the hundreds of millions already existing out there vying for the same eyeballs.
Start with something that you are comfortable with. Many people here had to try out dozens of things before they found real success. There is nothing called "best e-business". Different people find success with different types of ventures. I started with a simple html site and now have all kinds of sites. Once you start doing something, you will start learning something new everyday. Sooner or later you will come upon a niche with which you are comfortable and which is profitable too. Just make sure you don't risk too much capital in one single venture. There is nothing fail-safe.
I agree with those that posted. Find a niche/topic that you are interested or passionate about. Buy a keyword rich domain name and set up a blog or simple webpage. Build a mailing list, do some article marketing. Hope that helps. Jessica
