Hello everyone, I'm marketing my 3 month old auction. I have listed some great stuff on there, high end equipment, to build content. I've submitted to over 75 link directories (just started this and plan on submitting to 20-30 everyday) and posted over 1600 posts in random message forums with my link in the sig. I have about $100-$200 that I can throw into marketing. I was thinking about paying someone for some good high quality SEO Press Release to submit to PRweb and bloggers. Paying someone to write blogs and articles (for article directories) and / or paying for some high quality link directories. Any suggestions of things I should start doing to market my new site? I'm working hard and consistent... I know it takes time, I'm just wanting to stay on top of things and want to d what's best for my investment. And I want to do things the most effective and right way. Thanks in advance for any help. C.
If you submitted to low traffic sites ,nothing will improve.Make use of digg.com ,deliciuos, and commenting a site like youtube . Three months is too earlier to take a decession.Traffic may be boost on tmorrow by 1000.Put more effort and wait to see the result until six months. You can use signature in this forum even. This is a most traffic tech forum in the internet. Work hard GOD will bless you.
A couple of things you could do to help market your site is: 1. Contact related websites and try to get link exchanges and/or get your site reviewed. You never know what kind of deals you can find out there so it's definitely worth contacting people. For example, I recently got my link on a PR3, related site and all I had to do was write a testimonial for his eBook. 2. Make relevant and quality comments on some of the top blogs out there JohnChow.com for example. Those two things will help drive a little traffic and get you better PR.
Thanks for the help. I signed up to digg 4 days ago. I'm not really sure what that site is about other than a social bookmark? - I have 10 youtube videos thus far =) - I have a myspace with over 17000 friends - Banners on two music website (and working on more) - Submitted to about 200 directories. (probably 80% of them were generic ones. But all were PR3 - PR6) - Commented on 2-3 guitar reviews - Spam my own own message forum (I don't mean spam in a bad way... I just put it out there) - Have my link in my sig on all music forums that I frequent - I wrote two blogs - I send out personal invites to music sellers on eBay and Craigslist. And I probably have done more that can't think of. My weaknesses are Blogs, I'm not confident enough to write and it's hard to find the will to write a blog.. I never know what to write about and my bad writing skills and poor grammar would probably hurt me worse than helping. And my content isn't very good on the site.. it's an auction for music gear. I can only sell what I have to create content... so I guess content will come in due time.
Since your site is relatively new, your main emphasis should be to generate quality backlinks to it. Writing articles and submitting them to 4-5 big Article directories can be the first step. However, since you are not confident enough to write, hire a ghost writer for this work. Further, I would suggest you to add some quality content (say simple tutorial on using various musical instruments being auctioned on your website.) If you really want to make your website popular, you'll have to make it unique in some respect. After all why anybody would like to come to your auction site when they all have Ebay - the giant auction site for almost everything under the sun? Further, I strongly advise you to start a blog and start writing regularly on it. Google loves blog and they often get very high ranking in SERs. Don't worry too much about grammar. You should only be able to convey your message right. Regarding what to write, I must admit that this is a problem which is faced by a majority of people. Often we all draw a blank in front of computer. The best way to overcome is to read, research and then write about what your have learned. In every niche there are three levels of people : beginners, intermediate and advanced. You can always write something for the beginners. Regarding the will to write : Once you overcome the inertia and write regularly for some weeks, it'll not be tough. As you see that people are reading your stuff, a will to keep writing will come automatically.
