Hi, I am a newbie to paypal. So please help me understand this process. I am a freelancer, and My client has said that he has "paid me" in paypal.com... This was yesterday (21 March 08). Today, when I login to my paypal account.. I donot see any intimation that "payment under process " or "any other message" indicating the above transaction Am I missing somethig here ? How many days later.. do I see the funds in my paypal account ? I donot want to withdraw every time i get paid. I want to withdraw only after a certain amt is accumulated. So till then , if my funds "just stay there", do I have to pay any fee to paypal ??? Please help me understand Any help is great help thank you all in advance, Regards, Deepa
1. Depends how he paid you. If it was with his paypal funds it will be instant, otherwise it could take 3-5 days to go through from his bank account. 2. You can keep money in there for free and withdrawal it when you like. Hope i was of some help.
When someone pays you through Paypal, you should almost instantaneously receive an email stating to that fact and also it should be reflected in your account. The buyer would also get an email too. It can take an hour or so to update in your paypal account. If they paid via e-check, it would also be reflected but you would not get the money until the money is in your account. One thing is that the customer may not have actually paid you or paid to the wrong email address. Ask them to forward you the paypal email confirmation on their end.
Hi Terminator & Eddy, Thanks for such a qucik response. I shall defnitly ask the client to forward me the confirmation sent him form paypal. And thanks for letting me know about " keeping the funds".. oh! dear,... you guys are great help. thank you
No, I did not recive any email from paypal when i aksked the perosn to forward his confirmation email to me, this is the response i got > I > have giv my card number and open a/c. but I have > sendt mony also. problem is ,I have no mony in > paypal a /c. how can sendt mony to you I dont understand.. he has given card number and open an account, but has not money in paypal, yet he said he has paid me.. what am i missing.. ..or am i being taken for a ride
oh! Dear... Yet,I would like to give this person the benifit of doubht (if any) He (says) is a first time pay pal user and he "says" he has registered and given card details .. so, Is there a time gap .. between the card is verfired and payment process completed If so approximately how many days (max) Am I thinking correctly.. or is it just that i cannot accept some one is "taking " me for a ride :-(
No, an unverified account can pay via credit card and the payment is instant. In fact, if you use a Buy Now button or Email Invoice, they can pay without even signing up for paypal using their credit cards.
Even if the payment is pending it will show you that in the account details section, if it is pending it will not show up in the balance but you will still get an email for payment received and it will show up in your account. If you have none of that then you are being taken for a ride..
Sheeesh !!! in the past 3 - 4 days... I have been through hell and came back to tell the tale oh ! boy !... I was so glad to see a mail from paypal today saying "pending transaction" And in my paypal account.. the currency was smiling at me waiting to be accepted. It took 3 days for the confirmation to come ... (its ok i can wait for 4 days.. but anxiety took over me .. when I had my friends said.. its INSTANT.. did someone already mention 3 days.. Must have missed in all this commotion.. ). Now I can breathe easy... and next time i expect a payment, I shall wait atleast 3 days Thank you guys for the tips.. You have been very supportive.. and belive me.. i never responded to my client before actually checking the status with you guys.. it helped me "save face".. imagine.. had i cancelled my next appointment "thinking he has not paid".. how can get back and reschedule.. sheesh !!!... thanks to all you .. You guys are the best !
Terminator you did mention 3 - 5days of delay... see how preoccupied the mind gets and refuses to see all the details... dumb me !
