Hello everyone. I am a newbie..Some 3-4 days back, I started a website named http://www.crack-entrance.com/ . Its basically a student's portal which intends to help students, answering their queries, providing them with exam notifications, writing inspiring articles and trying to help them in their preparations. Not to mention a lot of similar sites exist, but people who are on my site like my work. It doesn't look too beautiful either as it is in its introductory phase. Obviously, I want to make money out of it by getting ads etc. So how do I make it popular. I have heard backlinks/inlinks are most important for getting high on google ranking. SO right now, I am submitting original articles to ezine,goarticles.com, yahoo answers and also on digg on reddit to get quality dofollow links. Now my question is what is more important? Getting backlinks first or writing quality content and using SEO. What will u advice to a beginner/newbie? Right now, I can spend only 3 hours on all this link building stuff. SO suggest accordingly. Any tips for saving time? Am I following right approach? Please guide me all of you. Thanks
In my opinion, you should firstly concentrate on the On Page Optimization of your site. This includes placing appropriate contents to your site, keywords, keywords density, bolding the keywords, having proper Meta Tags and Page titles for your site. Once you are done with this then only you should target building links and backlinks.
So you mean target 4-5 keywords and write an article using those keywords and including them several times in the article?
The most important thing you could do is write compelling content. If your site is useful to people then they will share it and link back to it. The other thing I would try is finding other bloggers and sites that have a similar topic, you can share your site with them, if they find your information useful they may link to it.
the main focus of seo is to optimize your page internally before focusing on the back end side of optimization. the more quality your site has the better rankings you will get.
Building backlinks is a long term ongoing process and cannot be completed in 3 hours! I'd focus on building quality content first. Optimise your titles for the search terms which you want to be found - currently your home page has a title of 'my title' - not very meaningful! Title should also reflect the content of the post, just like a chapter title in a book.
