I have recently been snooping around the clickbank marketplace for products to promote. Unfortureately I am not working and therfore have no capital to invest in ppc advertising and the like. I have set up a free website at yola for just now and wondering if it is possible to get started in the affiliate marketing industry using this method or if I need an initial start up bank balance. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
You can definitely start up with little or no capital. It can take a while for your own website to rank, however (although that is the best strategy for the long term IMHO). Newbies should stay away from PPC anyway, since you can lose a lot of money if you don't know what you are doing. You probably would have the quickest success using bum marketing (or article marketing) methods, so you may want to do a search to learn more about that.
Thanks for the replies. I am going to stay away from ppc advertising and going to do a search on bum marketing. I have registered with squidoo but need to find out a lot more about it as thought it was only article submission site like ezine and hub pages. Have searched around the forum for information. As a result I now have a website set up for a redirect straight to the vendor page. Again used yola for free site though so don't know what will happen when i try to promote it.
Whack some articles, join more forums, do some free Press Releases, make a few social media pages redirecting to your domain, squidoo etc and you should be well on your way. Cheers
Yes, start doing free stuff like writing articles and try hubpages, I have found it gets better results than squidoo for me anyway. Keep reading up on stuff, it is going to take a while to get it all up and running but have patience and persevere and you will get there.
Article marketing is where you should start. As long as you are happy with the appearance of your site it really makes no difference where you build it. I realize SEO is very in depth, but if you can gain natural search results to your site, there really isn't any need for PPC. AdWords can be tricky and expensive. If your willing to spend a little money to learn different techniques, check out my website. It has recommendations of teaching products for various forms of free advertising. As I am new to this form, I can not post the link here, but feel free to access it through my profile.
Thank you all for your information and encouragement with the article writing techniques rather than ppc. Will certainly stick to the article writing and try to build links through other article submission sites.
Yeah, keep working with what's important, article marketing and being seen. DO NOT waste your time by logging in and out just to check your sales stats, that will just interrupt your work flow and will not be beneficial for you now in the beginning anyways. To still access your stats in a convinient way, you can download the program down in my signature, totally free of charge and it will do the trick for you.
Thanks Adraco. Will download that for the future but not really monitoring stats as i've only just started. I tend to find seeing the zero's really distracting. Not a great motivator. I do check once a week roughly and the hops are increasing gradually but the sales are still flatlined.
Thanks you to webmarketinggaib. I have viewed your profile page to access your site. Looks like some really good stuff. I am running McAfee software to try to avoid spam where i can. I,m sure you understand. Unfortunealtely your site is queed at the moment for testing. Will be checking back though. The SEO technique is a whole new topic that has opened my eyes but how to apply it is where I don't know where to start. Every keyword or phrase I'm applying is generating over 100,000 results. The best i have had was 93,000. Your site seems to have info on that so will check back.
From all the information I have gathered from this thread it is obvious to stick to the article marketing strategy to get the word out. I am posting regular but need to look into the SEO techniques to apply with the articles as they are probably being published and then no-one can find them. So that would seem pretty pointless.
You absolutely need no initial investment because i started my affiliate business without any money. Using only free webpage like hubpage , zimbio, weebly and many more.. Use article marketing to market the free webpage by linking back to your site. One of the free methods to advertise for a newbie marketer.
Thank you for the advice GRANDROYAL. Can I just ask if you used your own landing page to presell products? I've been trying that and recently just started promoting a free site which redirects To the vendors landing page. Is is wrong to redirect like this?
Didn't get articles out today. Went to the clickbank marketplace and selected various products to promote accross different sectors. Changed my websites and now focusing on 5 websites that are all free and using redirect to the vendors landing page and 1 free website with some content on it but using hopads from clickbank to increase the activity on the site. So in all I have got 6 websites up and running and tommorrow will be starting to promote them. I reckon using 6 different products if I only produce 1 article per day to promote each website then 6 a day should get results. I didn't know how to use the clickbank site to see the analyctics reports. Spent a bit of time in there as well. Fingers crossed I can get results now that it's all set up.
You can make money with clickbank with little to no investment. I would also use squidoo rather than yola. Look into bum marketing as well. Whichever approach you take, be sure to give it time and make adjustments as needed. Don't give up unless you are certain you are going in the wrong direction.
I,ve been over to squidoo and it's brilliant. I,ve put the articles up for the products I'm promoting and even more fun to write the content with them. I seem to be more creative over there too. Think it's because they easily lay the context out for you. What's the best way to get traffic over there though.
