Hi, I am new to affiliate marketing and am doing a course right now which is helpful but misses some crucial steps. Anyway I have started to try and promote a guitar lessons course and have managed to start getting clicks via PPC about 130 this week yet no sales. Any advice? and is low or high gravity better. I really don't know where to start!! Thanks
Well gravity is not a good way to judge products, many "Gurus" might tell you not to promote low gravity products , but that doesnt mean they're not profitable. Just test
I am sending people straight to the merchant site at the moment to test it out. Also thanks for the other tips about low gravity, will have a go... Cheers Matt
A lot of people will agree on this one, and from personal experience I recommend having a landing page. For about a month I was directing to the publishers page. Once I made my own landing page I was making an extremely noticeable difference in sales. It gives the person a chance to be warmed up to what they will be thinking about purchasing. I also believe that when people refer back to the product for recommendation to a friend or something, they will give out your site name, not the publishers.
Thanks for the advice, much appreciated!! I was going to build a landing page but thought before I invest in a niche that I should see if the merchant site converts or not, if it does then I was going to make a landing page. Any thoughts?
I hope you're not a newbie with PPC and clickbank. Paying for traffic when you don't really know how to convert is a recipe for disaster. Gonna waste a lot of money that way.
Thats not a very good way to test to see if it converts. I'd recommend doing some bum marketing to the publishers page to see if you can get some sales.
Thats not a good way to do it specially when u r doing it with PPC,your quality score will be low and google may slap with high bids, its always better to set up a presell page related to your main keyword and then sending traffic to it.
First of all, get away from clickbank. They're a terrible network (even though a lot of folks haven't seemed to realize that yet). In my experience, the absolute best is Copeac. Getting over 100 clicks with no conversions is not that uncommon. It all depends on the source of your traffic and how well targeted it is (with respect to the offer you're promoting). Linking directly to the merchant's page isn't necessarily a bad thing. In fact, I run several dating campaigns that do just fine with that approach.
Make a good landing page to promote your product. If it doesn't work, move to another product. Good Luck
Here's some advice, along with scars. Use something else besides clickbank. They're a completely negligent business that allows their infrastructure to go to crap and than have the nerve to patronize you when you complain.
I agree with most on here.... For starters, I wouldn't suggest just jumping right into PPC. Unless you have money to burn, I would strongly suggest you use free methods to promote products as an affiliate. Continue to educate yourself and read up on as much as you can about internet/affiliate marketing. There is tons of information on here and the net itself. You just have to dig for it. Make a landing page for every product you promote. Like AffiliateRook said, it will pre-sell the customer, so that when they visit the actual merchants site, they just go straight for the "Order Now" button. When I started making landing pages was when I started actually making decent money. Hope some of that can point you in the right direction!
