Newbie Starting Internet Marketing...Goal is 5$ in a Week

before i get people hating on me and saying 5$ is so easy to get in a week...i will explain why 5$ is my first goal...

1 - ive been reading this forum for about 3 months to gain knowledge on internet marketing and every so often i see people posting threads about how they wanna make 50$ a day or 10,000 dollar a week or something and they usually ALWAYS FAIL...i want a goal that i can achieve in a week and build on that...

2 - im a total newbie at this and i work a full time job and go to school full time...so realistically i can only work on this saturdays and sundays...

3 - i want to prove to myself that internet marketing isnt a scam and you can really make some money online...

i just want a little help on where should i start...and how should i go about this...
im going to start lookin for a product to market today...but also i want to use google adsense to also make a little extra cash on the same website...is that smart or should i just do one or the other???

    any help is appreciated...

Well I haven't been so successful in the Internet Marketing business, but one thing that has helped me was networking with people who know there talking about and ask questions. People on this forum are really here to help and learn from one another so really spend a lot of time on this forum there is a lot of useful information.

Nice post, I have been reading threads and posts for weeks. Followed step by step a few of those "make 50 in a week" tutorials, but didnt have anything good yet.
I totally support this thread with the 5$ goal in a week, if someone thinks thats too easy give us a hand here with some tips. Many thanks.

I can be fulltime dedicated to this so that should make a bit easier to reach the goal. I have been doing some keyword research and socialbookmarking, plus digg and ppr and more. writting in a few niche related forums.

I wish we can help each other in this discussion.

Clickbank with article submission can prove to work. It's all about how hard you work at it.

I would find a few products related to your niche or general. Write up 10 -50 articles submit them and spin them to different directories and then backlink them to your Clickbank products.

    Quick cash, i guess!

I like the $5 per week idea. I started off with big numbers and it was rough. Just keep at it and repetition is key!

ClickBank is tough IMO. You really need to find a good niche and then find a product that matches. Once you find a product, build the site and then focus on marketing.

I think that the OP's goal is to find something that works on a miniature level that can be built up over time in order to generate a meaningful income. $5 a week is an interesting way to look at it, just don't get stuck in some of those "dead-end jobs".

The Amazon affiliate program (mentioned in the above post) is a great start for beginners though because it allows you to sell pretty much anything you want. It does, however, have two downsides to it. First of all, you have to spend $70 to become an affiliate of Amazon. Secondly, the commissions that you earn are only around 7%. This means that you have to sell 1,000 dollars worth of stuff just to break even, and also sell about $1,000 worth of stuff a day in order to replace a decent income.

While the broad spectrum of products available on Amazon makes this task not impossible, it may take quite awhile before you see any real decent income.

Clickbank is really the only generic affiliate program that doesn't require a website. However, there are a lot of private websites that have their own affiliate programs. Just search for something you'd like to sell with "affiliate program" in the search and you will find a lot of smaller programs that are targeted to your niche.
