Lets say I have fadwebsite.com as an up and running website.

Now, lets say I buy website.com and site.com and set up both the domains as aliases/parked on top of fadwebsite.com.

Will this bring my site any SEO benefits?

    Thanks! :)

What do you mean by "parked on top"?

As in website.com and site.com will be set as domain aliases to fadwebsite.com

    Basic definition of aliasing/parking: tabbyweb.com/web_notes/domain_aliasing.htm

I don't quite understand what an alias is meant to do, I've never used it... I would rather use a 301 redirect, since that wouldn't hurt your site so much

Example of an alias would be fadgame.com parked on top of fadgames.net, see how the links (most) are relative to the domain depending on which domain you use?

Basically, Its like having two copies of a site using 2 domains when infact both are the same site/content.

Yeah, and you will end up in serious problems due to duplicate content, I can't imagine any possible use of this feature

Using exactly the same content on 2 sites = waste on time.

You won't achive anything positive by doing that, if you want benifit and create 2 sites with similar themes but different content and then exchange links, that will help you.

it doesnt matter , you can put the same code , as long as the content is legal and you own both 2 sites

yeah but if you say revenure and target , "whispering-death" have told right that you cant achieve anything with 2 sites having same content , you will waste your energy by advertising different sites having same content , rather you can advertise the single site more and achieve something

I understand what you guys are saying but its just like having google.com and google.net. You don't want 2 different sites. You want only 1 site, at the same time you want to keep your trademarks/branding.

you could opt for a redirect instead of aliasing. a 301 redirect should do nicely to avoid duplicate content issues.

Hmm this is interesting, as I have mydomain.com and mydomain.co.uk which is "Parked" on the .com.

I think I might switch to a re-direct after reading through this!

Building your PageRank can be a little tricky and expensive. I build my PageRank purely using grace domains & seeking software. There is a newsletter out for it that might help and I think it comes with the software too.
