 I took too long to write the post at first and lost everything ...

I'll be brief ... I just registered to the affiliate program at Amazon and I am looking for some answers.

Is it a good option to embed a store in a website, or would it be better to advertise targeted items in single pages, then send customers on the Amazon website to complete the transaction ?

Is it better focusing on small priced items and try to maximize sales number, or have you got better experience in selling high priced items ?

    Thank you in advance,

For me Amazon convert best in my blogs where I have review, compare and recommend products.

low price items and easy to sell and those help you to get your commission rate increased. It's pretty hard to sell high price items and has a bigger risk of client returning the item. But you have to find somewhere middle between those 2 things to get best out of Amazon.com

Thank you for your tip bluarrow, this is an excellent idea, I will write product review and showcase related product.
I did set some carousel, they fit quite well on my sites. I'll see how it goes.

    Best,

When you pick a product to write a positive review make sure you pick a product with lot of positive ratings. Building trust matters lot when you are selling Amazon stuff. People buy things only if they believe your review is correct so always pick good products with positive rating. Also if do a negative review here and there too.

The Store thing is really kind of moot. People know about Amazon... so it's not like they are coming to "shop". Broad Shotgun approaches won't work very well.

You'll do much better to convince people to buy a product through a review or evaluation or quality presell.

Remember as soon as you send some to Amazon they had better be ready to buy... otherwise you will not get the commission.

And once Amazon has their email address they will email them almost every day direct. Amazon tracks everything people look at and sends targeted emails direct to the Visitor.

To be Honest I use Amazon on Hubpages and that's about it. I can see little point in sending traffic to a site who is so restrictive and truly anti affiliate. You do so much work for so little return.

Find affiliates who respect you and will pay you for the traffic. Long Term Cookies, higher payouts... Amazon is a really tough way to make money.

The do have value in some niches where can find no one else paying commissions on products, but overall... not a good choice.

    Good luck.

24 Hour cookie is the real problem we have with Amazon. This is one reason but expensive products are hard to sell. If someone going to buy a Plasma TV he would read a lot before paying. Cheaper things have better chance.

I have been using Amazon for 3 months and is having horrible conversions with them. Its better to promote the individual offers from CPS or CPA.....

    Just sharing my experience.

Mine is a very niche site. Back when I had a 'static' store on my site, I would have good sales (good being relative here) when I kept my product selection fresh. When I started neglecting it, sales fell to nothing.

I just recently integrated aStores into my site so the selection should always be fresh. I'm curious to see how sales will be now.

It can't hurt to have an embedded store. Use that with a mixture of blog posts focusing on new items.
