Hi All, I'm starting up a site with free forums etc and I want to introduce a script that automatically creates useful links in blogs and forums. I'm not much of a coder, so I could do with some help. The script would look for a few "keywords" in the text and automatically create links to the sites mentioned. For example, if someone types the word google in their blog and then posts it, the word would become bold. When a user clicks the word, they will be taken to www.google.com (preferably in a new window). The list can be updated and you can add keywords. It would be nice to have this in the chat rooms, too. I'm sure people are doing this already - so where do I find the script? Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance! Pete.
There are two places you want to start looking: http://www.hotscripts.com/ and http://sourceforge.net/
I know dealofday.com used to use one of those in their forums. But I just checked and it appears they dont use it anymore. They may be able to help you out.
