everyone needs to contribute to show ads.

however, the site you're showing ads on DOES NOT need to be the site you're advertising. I could put the coop ads on www.mydomain.com and then have the links show to www.mycommercialsite.com

    How do you do that?

I am looking through the admin panel and FAQ, can't see how it's done. Can you post quick instructions if possible?

    ah ok!
So the ad is only checked on the main url then? not the pages that are in my pool of advertisements?

right. the url you sign up with is the location of the ads. based on that, you're assigned ad weight. you can do whatever you want with the weight you're given (minus rx, adult, etc sites)

The pool of adverts is completely separate to the site from which you gain your weight and on which you display the Coop Ads.

Say, for example, you have 4 websites.

    www.aaaaaa.com
    www.bbbbbb.com
    www.cccccc.com
    www.dddddd.com

You have www.aaaaaa.com which has 500 pages indexed on Google.

You place the code on all the pages of this site. The Coop network validates this and assigns you a weight of 1,234 (just a made up figure)

You go into the Coop Admin panel, and make up 2 ads. You use one to promote one of your other 3 sites www.bbbbbb.com, and another to promote www.dddddd.com.

The Ad network will organise your ads for www.bbbbbb.com and www.dddddd.com to be displayed on other websites within the network.

Your site which gained you the weight will be displaying ads from other members of the Ad network.

The beauty of all this is that the network provides 3-way linking automatically.

Now, then, if you wanted to you could also make up another ad promoting your site www.aaaaaa.com, or another ad promoting your site www.cccccc.com

If www.dddddd.com was a new site, and you need it promoting more heavily than the other sites, then you could just disable all your ads except the one which pointed to www.dddddd.com and then you would be using all your ad weight to get ads for www.dddddd.com displaid.

    The permutations are limitless.

you should also look a little closer.

two of those sites are mine. One does have the ads at the bottom (text link)
the other does not but was explained by Disgust and Nadlay.
