    Hey,

I am a big noob in terms of web designing and know very little about it.That's why i chose the blogger format for my blog.I started it about 6 days ago and i've gotten about 1600 hits is that any good?

How do i get more traffic?

Anyway my question is what is rss?I've put burnfeeder into my blog but have no idea what it does.I've googled it but i found the explanations too complicated so please explain it to me as basic as you possibly can.

What do sites like digg and de.li.cious do?

Again I have read the explanations but i do not understand because i'm too "slow".

Please give me tips and advice on how you think i can improve.

    My site is: www.undergroundmarauders.com

1600 hits is great for a new site with no promotion. Traffic will come as you write quality posts and word spreads around of your blog. If you want to speed up the pace, of course, there are sites like Digg. Digg community members vote on top articles/blog posts and read them as well. If your site gets Digged often, you have a higher likelihood of increasing rankings. If you hit the frontpage of any section, you're guaranteed a burst of traffic, followed by a dip and a steady increase.

Here are some answers point-by-point to your questions.

    1. 1600 hits is excellent for a new site! Have you promoted it yet or what?
    2. Getting more traffic is a very very broad question because there are so many ways. You can submit to sites like Digg, Reddit, and StumbleUpon (SU is the best, imo) and get a burst of traffic fairly quickly.
    3. RSS is a way to get content delivered easily to you. It's a way for readers to subscribe to your content so that they can get it by using something that reads RSS feeds (feed readers) or by e-mail. Feedburner is a way to publish your feed and track its success. It is the most widespread service for it.
    4. Digg and del.ici.ous are social bookmarking sites that allow you to submit sites and get traffic to them.

    Hope that helps :)

1600 hits is really great. If you want to get more traffic you can participate actively in forums. Provide good advices then you put your signature link to your website.

He did say 1600 hits in 6 days. That sounds astounding.

Maybe you should be here giving advice, not asking for it.

When you say "hits" exactly how are you measuring -- Actual visitors or site 'hits' by any type?
All this makes a big difference...

On a new site you'll get a bit of a 'hit' spike when bots like googlebot first catalog your site.
    Then things may slow down.

You need to focus on real visitors.
    Success,
    Sam
