Newbie question

    My site was ranked Google SERPs #2 for one particular keyword, but then i foolishy paid for 20 asian .edu profile backlinks. I also submitted my URL to over 30 directories in 1 day (assuming that they would then be added over a period of time). I also pinged my site twice in 3 days.

    My site is 1 week old. Now despite having unique content (500 words) plus adsense, i believe i have been sandboxed as my site has completely dissapeared from the affore mentioned keyword SERPs.

    Could someone please tell me, will my site ever re-capture its ranking ? Is there anything i can do to solve the problem ?

    did you diversify the anchor links from these .edu profile links?

    if you did remove those links asap

    if you didnt then try changing them so its like

    40% generic e.g "click here" "visit this site"
    20% brand names eg "my website" "www.mywebsite.com"
    40% keywords that you want to rank for eg "fake watches" "replica watches"

    The answer to this question is very simple: YOUR SITE IS ONLY ONE WEEK OLD! The ranking of 2 you just got was only temporary. Do not worry though. Your ranking will eventually return in the next 2-6 months. In the mean time you can follow stephen87's advice (the post above mine).
