Newbie question: What software can we use to create a directory?

    Hi folks, I am a newbie in creating directories. Please let me know what software I can use to create and manage a directory.

    Your help is appreciated. Thanks.

    Update: The directory I am trying to create is paid only deep link directory.

    I use phLD 4.1 on several of my domains and I believe it is the better directory software out there (it could use much improvement though).

    Better go with wordpress. You will find many plugins there and its very much easy to handle

    If I had to do it again, probably PHPLD.

    Trouble is both of my directories are heavily, very heavily modified versions of a now defunct directory script company. They work very well and to change it now would be like taking a huge step backwards.

    For a newbie phpLD is very easy to manage and install. There is an older free version available from their website, though its not easy to find - good to give it a try to see if it works for you and the new version is only $30 with a link back so its not a big investment.
