Newbie question re hoplinks

    My site isn't an affiliate site. It's a funny video/pic site. Failorfunny.com hope it's ok to post it.

    I'd like to monetize the site a little better, as I'm finally starting to get some traffic. I've got a Clickbank acct and I'm trying to figure out the best way to use it. How do the HopAds work? PPC, like Adsense? Or PPA (only get paid when someone buys)?

    I actually like the HopLinks better. But don't have room for a big pitch - and it's not the style of my site. I was thinking about creating a table with 4 boxes and putting a Hoplink in each box. The link would consist of a thumbail of each affiliate's logo (which I'd have to create) and a small pitch such as "Want to see streaming satellite on your computer? Click here."

    Does this sound feasible. Allowable?

    Sorry for the noooobie question. Maybe you can remember when you were a newbie idiot like me and needed some help. Thanks so much in advance.

    * CPS (When someone buys).

    * Don't use the hopads

    * Find the perfect few products and blend them in nicely however you can, same way you'd blend your banners/text links/interstitials...

    * Cute site: You have a header 728, a side banner spot(s), a banner under each funny, you're pretty much set dude, just replace all your spots with well matched offers not rotating a bunch of them. After testing x or xx slowly, you'll know how to cherry pick the winners.

    * Not sure how much traffic you're getting but assume 10-20% will click ads if you're lucky and have great creatives or trick your users into clicking by overblending (i.e. making certing thumbnails there actual hoplinks). You'll just be going direct from banners to hoplinks, not to landing pages I assume - if you have enough traffic it MIGHT be worth doing landers once you find the few that do match well/convert.

    * Until you get xxx hops a day to an offer for a few days straight, you won't know if it will convert at all - if you're only getting 9 hops a day, you'll wait ages for any proper testing.

    * Mine the marketplace at CB well and think what kind of traffic you have, find their aff page where you get their banners/marketing materials, and match it perfectly to your site - and you're golden (with traffic/good ads).

    Thanks for the reply NCMedia. I've only been up and running for about 10 weeks - I've got 13,500 views with 34 Adsense clicks. Pretty piss-poor rate. And half of those clicks were probably friends and family, LOL. I know it takes time (this is my first and only site) but I feel like I'm not doing it right. Maybe you know someone who could help with the marketing?
