Newbie question on development server setup

    Guys,

    Suppose I want to do all my website design within a windows OS (all my tools are windows), but I want to develop my site as close to my webproviders setup as possible (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PhP).

    How can I do this? I would like to be able to install LAMP on an external USB drive. Am I overthinking this?

    I guess you can installl some virtual desktop running linux. VMWARE is one of them.

    well generally your limited in some areas. IE: linux servers, no asp/.net or iis but both use similiar web page codes/languages so there is versatility their.
