Newbie question: How to upload Wordpress database xml file using PHPMyAdmin

Hello. As you can probably tell by the title of this post, I am clueless when it comes to this subject, but am more than willing to learn. I bought a TV show Wordpress database that was supposed to be an xml file that was exported from the seller's site so I could just import it, but instead it looks like it is a PHPMyAdmin export (according to Hostgator anyway). Not a big deal...unless you don't know a thing about PHPMyAdmin

What I am hoping for is for someone to either baby step me through the process of uploading this file and setting up the database, or suggesting a site that has step by step instructions for someone like myself that is in the dark when it comes to this subject. Any help would be greatly appreciated and I would gladly throw some rep your way...

I believe you have exported your wordpress blog from Wordpress admin panel. You can not restore your XML data from PHPMyAdmin. You will need to restore it from Wordpress Admin.

    - Login to your wordpress admin panel.
    - Go to Tools -> Import

I think you are missing what I am saying. I bought the database from someone here on DP, and assumed that I would be able to import it using the Admin. When I was unable to do it, I contacted Hostgator, and they said that it was a PHPMyAdmin xml file, and needed to be a WXR file in order to be imported through the Wordpress Admin.
