Hello; I am very new to this and I need one to walk me through the newbie steps. Probably a lot of people want to know this, but are embarrassed to ask. However, I am shameless. Anyway. I would like to know how sites that offer links to online tv shows and movies - such as sidereel/megavideo monetize through PPC. This is what I know so far - movies are uploaded to megavideo (by whoever) and then the webnester would post the megavideo link on the site. Perhaps several links, as most megavideo uploads get taken down regularly There are 2 techniques that I can see that are being used. 1. A "Close to Play" box is placed over the play button. Who and how is there money made in this situation? Does the pressing of the close button trigger a click that registers somewhere? If so, how is this programmed. 2. On Megavideo there is a screencap of the show, then the green play button in the middle, when this is pressed there is usually a launch of a separate page - usually for Kevin and his Google work at home crap.
