If I am promoting an offer, but the merchant has an opt-in box on their site, will I still get the sale if they buy the item after subscribing to the newsletter or will the merchant get that sale?
Gotcha, and how long does a clickbank cookie stay active? I could not find that in their privacy policy
It's not just the cookie, some publishers are dishonest, and replace their hoplink in their follow up messages. So you should be careful, when choosing a product to promote, maybe opt in for the newsletters and see if the cookie stays there
Theoretically it is fine. The cookie is on the computer for like 60 days. Like ripped said, publishers can put their affiliate link and you lose it. The best thing to do is sign up to the marketing yourself and see what is being sent out. Every email you get, click the link to the site, go to the order page and see if you see your username at the bottom (assuming you've already clicked through your own hoplink).
Supper took the words out of my mouth. Perhaps join the list with 3 seperate emails and names. Check them all to make sure the links aren't being occasionally swapped for the publishers link.
