I am launching a website / directory of local businesses in the automotive sector. I am looking for ways to monitize the site other than selling plain vanilla directory listings. With PPC, how does one find advertisers that would pay to be listed on my site? I know there are "impression" ads, but with PPC, how do you charge and track these -- or do you have to use a network? Also - on a few websites that I've been on, when you click a link it takes you to a full-page ad for something and there is a link in the upper right hand area that says "skip this ad". What do you call that type of advertising and where do you find advertisers for that? I think that once my site gets some traffic that new car vendors might advertise with me.... hopefully.
