I'm using the Starter edition in Adwords just to get my feet wet. I started advertising for a product from Clickbank yesterday. In 24 hours I only received two impressions with no clicks. My monthly budget is $30/month (it is within my budget). I've added about three keywords that pertain to the ad. Can someone tell me what is going on?

3 keywords isn't enough really - run your keywords through the adwords keyword tool and find a few more - some longtails - that pertain to your product.
if you're not getting impressions it's probably because you're simply not bidding enough for that keyword - click the magnifying glass diagnostic tool and see what it tells you.
Or else nobody (except 2 people) is searching for it.

This cud be happen due to these reasons:-

    1. Daily Budget - As u mentioned your daily budget $30/month means 1$ per day. So in this case Adwords system may slow or even stop the delivery of your ad for that day in order to stay within your budget.

    2. keyword Performance - Means keywords you selected do not have proper searches to get your ads display.

    3. Disapproved Ad - Might be adwords stopped ur ads due to going against google adwords policies.

For more information just visit this url Adwords Help

In this case i wud suggest u just try to make contact to adwords help center to proper reason...................

I just upgraded to Standard edition and it stated that I need to have my minimum bid as $10. They claim my bid, which is $.70, is too low.

If you are bidding for "web hosting" or something popular it is not weird that you are getting $7 a click.

It does happen at times when your ads need to be approved by google. Sometimes if an ad has to be approved, it is shows up very few times. It will soon catch up once you ad gets approved:).
