    Hello all,

    So I am in then process of learning how to create a blog. Thing is I want to do a few things like interview lots of local bands and businesses, upload lots of work from local artists, upload lots of video content, etc. In addition to all this I was thinking of having a section where people can listen to the music of the various artists that I interview. I was wondering if I should create a blog or website. From what I've read, blogs are good for quick, 250 words or less thoughts. But I don't know if it will be too little for what I want to do. Anyone have any tips on which way I should lean?

    I personally think that a blog would work just fine. As the moderator of you blog, you really control the ebb and flow of the content inluding length. You can also add pages as you go along. Your idea sounds great. Best of luck!

    Blog and website are not mutually exclusive...You should probably have a website with a blog section.

    I personally use Wordpress for all my sites. Although originally a blogging platform, it is now a complete CMS. You can download free themes and play around to try and figure them out.

    Also, have a look at wordpress codex and w3 schools to learn html, css and wordpress stuff.

    Yeah, the line between blogs and websites is becoming more blurry these days. I'd agree that a self hosted wordpress would be the best for your idea.

    You absolutely need to at least have a blog section, because fresh, frequently updated content is great for Google and other search engines and this will help your site's ranking.

    If you use Wordpress, you can have plenty of stand-along pages like a traditional website, and then a specific area for your recent posts. I use it for my blog and it's been great for me.

    Blogger is also one neat site to start with. You just need to set that up in Google.

    @louisforward

    You can use Wordpress for your website which gives some of the best features and its functionality can be extended by using plugins. You can contact me for setting up the website.
