Okay, I’m a beginner to this site and to the world of website design and development. I stumbled upon these boards in my quest for knowledge. I’ve come up with a great idea for a website (or at least what I believe to be a great idea) but I have no idea where to start. I’ve called several local development companies but their prices very so much it’s hard to really know who to trust or what to expect for my money. I’m a big fan of Henry Ford and his concept of surrounding yourself with smart people. I’d like to develop a team of people who have the knowledge I’m looking for. I have started learning some basics through w3schools online (which I found out about through these boards) but to build a site like I’m thinking of is going to take years of self training. So what do I do? What’s the best thing to do from here? Do I pay someone to develop what I’m looking for? If so, how much is a reasonable price to pay? I’d also be very interested in partnering up with someone. We could discuss different ways to form the partnership but my original thought was they could take care of development and design at their expense and I would take care of the hosting fee’s, marketing, etc. The idea is good and I believe once developed and marketed properly could bring in large traffic. If anyone’s interested I can show you numbers to back up that statement. I’d also be willing to start everything in an entity (LLC, S Corp, etc.) for both of our protection and security. So what suggestions do you have for me? What’s the best way for me to get the site developed? What would you do? Thanks for everyone’s time I really enjoy reading these boards. There’re a lot of people on here who seem to really try and help each other out.

The best thing for you, in my opinion, is to follow what Henry Ford did - find a group of people who would work for you. You're the boss, you take care of everything but the creative process. The success should come knockin'... Good luck.

EDIT: You can PM for questions and/or help.
