Newbie "Keyword" Question

Okay, so I have my blog for sometime now and I've been reading on SEO and I've tried to optimize my blog to the best that I can understand SEO. I know about keywords and that you should use it on your content and since I have a gadget review site, it's pretty easy since I just have to use the product name every so often on my blog. I can get good results since most of the times the article that I just wrote instantly ranked on the first page of my chosen keywords. So here's my question/s:

    1. Based on Google's webmaster tools, if I already rank in the top ten of that keyword, what else should I do about it, to keep me in that rank, that is? I have had experience when I ranked in the top ten then after several weeks, I'm already on the second page of the results.

    2. I think that I only have keywords on a per article/post basis, do I need keywords on my blog as a whole? How can I choose my keywords?

    3. How does keyword really work? If I did a post with the keywords "sansa view reviews" and did another post with the keyword "sansa View features", so that's two blog posts, would these help my blog rank for the keyword "sansa view" even though the keywords are on two different pages?

I'm really a bit confused so if anyone could help me out or point me to an article with details about keyword, i would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Nobody REALLY knows to the detail how each action is perceived by google
at least not in an easily measurable way.
We can make educated guesses on past experience but SEO is not an exact science
its more like an Art - but the rules might change over time.
This is field is more trial and error

    so
Writing related articles on your site helps
Writing new posts on your site helps
Getting links to your site with the related keywords in them helps
Keeping the visitors (not bouncing visitors) and not sending them back to google helps

Here is a simple link building guide if you are interested

SEO is all about marketing and promotion. Just think of promoting a product. . . your product is your site and think how would you promote it!

Always remember, a product is useless if it doesn't use by someone or somebody!

    1. Establish Your Keywords. Do a little research on the keywords or search terms that people actually search. I recommend Google Keyword Tool. This is a great tool to get started. Look for 5-10 keywords. Pick a couple that are very competitive with high popularity among searchers and a couple that are not as competitive with decent popularity among searchers.
    2. Once you have established your keywords, write a brief description that includes some of your Keywords. This description should be as natural as possible without keyword stuffing.
    3. Use a good meta tag generator. You will input the keywords and the description that you previously created into this generator, and it will create the code that you need to add to your page. If you use the one I linked to above it will show you exactly where to place the code on your page. If you don't like this one, just search "meta tag generator" in Google.
    4. Now back to the keywords. Take the keywords and make sure that you have used them throughout the pages content as naturally as possible. If possible, use them in your headers "H1" "H2" "H3" etc.
    5. Make outbound links using your keywords as the text. I know what you are thinking, but do it anyways. link to blogs or other pages that have your keyword in their content. This helps amazingly.
    6. Get links back to your site from other sites using your keywords as the text just like you did in making outbound links. Search for free directories and directories related to your site. Get links from any where you can. I suggest installing the Google toolbar and make sure that you add the page rank tool. You will be asked if you want to install it at the end of the download. The Google Toolbar has a Page Rank meter in it. Use this meter in determining which pages you want links back to your site from. Don't waste your time with sites that have less page rank than you, unless you have a high page rank than it is OK to get links from sites with 1 or 2 page rank less than you.
