Hi there, i'm interested in creating a bidding/service site that would be similar to www.joomlancers.com. I'm not a programmer by any means, but am just wondering what I should read up on to familiarize myself with the programming language and options. I know there are bidding scripts that you can purchase and customize. In a nutshell, how do I start from the ground up? I want to start building this site asap but want to make sure my budget is realistic. Thanks! please pm/email me if at all interested.
Learn a dynamic language (PHP, ASP . . . etc), you may also want to look into some basic Javascript, it can come in handy. Definitely read up on SQL. It may be a good idea to familiarize yourself with some basic security also.
