Hi All, Just starting up a new business doing web design for actors, models, bands and general media types etc. The company will produce great looking websites for just £99.00 Anyway - adwords seems like and excellent way to drive potential customers to my site however I am a beginner! What hints, tips, estimated monthly spend, keywords, ad design...etc advice does anyone have. Would be great to get started armed with at least some knowledge! Cheers Warren
Warren, if you already have a well optimized site to convert, the next thing is to think like your customer. Research on keywords that they would type if they were looking for help in creating a website -- be very narrow to your niche and you'll get a much better CTR. Then look at similar ads appearing for your kw and see what attracts you the most - this will give you ideas about ad-copy.
There is plenty to learn from the ppc world. I would start if not by a site that teaches it then by reading as much as I could on doing a google for LEARN PPC, this isn't a joke I learned alot just reading articles, once you have a basic understanding of how the system works and what it's used for (not just used to drive traffic) I mean in more detail then you'll be able to benifit from using it.
Thankyou very much for the advice. I have had a good read through alot of articles both from Google and independant sites and am quite happy to fully learn (or atleast try to fully learn!) the adwords system and nuances in order to improve my business's turnover. So I have one last question. My company designs web sites for actors models, bands etc. So with that in mind what is your gut feeling. CONTENT or SEARCH?? Would be good to hear you thoughts. Warren
You have to target the right keywords as well. You can use tools that Google Adwords gives you when you make an account, it will give you related keywords which you can then do research on to see what ones you would like to target. Once you have the right ones you can make a campaign consisting of them. Hope that helps.
You can start by thinking of a good keyword/s, just like they said in their reply, a good way is to think like your clients, think of how they use keywords. You can also use the Google AdWords. This is a good way to find keywords. Hope you'll have a good start. Goodluck on your new web business.
