Newbie from Chicago, this looks like a great place to be!

Hi all, I'm relatively new to this field and I'm dying to get my act together and participate in the business of web marketing and web-commerce.

I already have a domain (blog) and an adsense account but I'm kind of stumped as far as what to do next to gain traffic and branch off into all the areas of web marketing being discussed here?

Since I'm in the presence of experts, can someone PLEASE suggest a good starting point in my education process? Best knowledge resource? Book, site, articles etc?
